Solo walks for older and nervous dogs
Not every dog wants a group. Some pull, some guard, some are just tired now. Those dogs go out on their own with me, at their pace.
How a solo walk is different
One dog, the whole slot. No waiting in the car while I collect anyone else, and no trying to manage someone else's recall at the same time.
For older dogs that usually means a slower loop with plenty of sniffing. Bushy Park and Home Park both have quiet corners where nothing comes barrelling over.
For nervous or reactive dogs it means I can pick the route around whatever they find hard, and turn round early if that's the right call.
You still get the photo and the message when they're home, which for a lot of owners of older dogs is the reassuring bit.

Questions people ask me
My dog is reactive on the lead, will you take him
Usually yes, on a solo walk. Tell me what sets him off and what you do about it, and I'll do the same. If I don't think I can keep him or anyone else safe, I'll say so.
My dog is old and slow, is a walk still worth it
Often it's the best part of their day. We go at their pace, with more sniffing and less distance. A half hour is plenty for a lot of older dogs.
What if my dog doesn't like being left with someone new
That's what the meet and greet is for, and it's on me. I come round, we do it in your house with you there, and nothing gets booked until your dog is comfortable.
Can you give medication on a walk day
Simple things, yes, if you leave clear written instructions. Anything complicated is a conversation first rather than a yes over WhatsApp.
Will my nervous dog ever join a group
Only if they want to. Some dogs relax after a few weeks and enjoy company. Plenty never do, and staying solo is fine.
What if the walk goes badly
I'll tell you exactly what happened, same day. I'd rather be honest and change the plan than pretend everything was fine.
